-We say, it’s probably too much sun, caipiroscas and bikini catwalks. Call it estivalism or madness, that’s what laid back beachlife is about.

For some people, sunny days and time off is meant to get back on track, reflecting over loads of issues, straightening out a mediocre daily life.

Ironically it might just be right the opposite. Getting away, first physically then mentally, allows a certain distance to narrow thinking and ultimately that thinking ought to be replaced by a room for authentic pleasures. Repression is easier, everything tastes better and that includes music.

Well for us technofanatics, almost any track is a killer one in that state of mind. Provided that a proper summer-setting is in place, underestimated or forgotten tracks as well as new tunes, can all fuse into a very pleasant symbiosis.

For the personal favourites and classics we’ll leave it up to you to dig out suitable nostalgia.
But we'll still lay out an excerpt of our current likes, and there are loads of that... Thumbs up y’all!

We've also taken a vacation from the blogosphere. With no internet connection, we've been shaking like crack-hoes in rehab. But the future looks brighter for those who actually give a shit about NBE. The Nosebloodelectro.com is under construction, but with our mediocre Photoshop/illustrator skills we can't promise a mind-blowing design. If your knowledgeable in graphic design you can email us ideas, logos, backgrounds and so on, would be appreciated.

Back From Delirium

We’re back from the most epic, decadent and wonderful days at Sonar in Barcelona. The 24/7 musical paradise was just too good to be true. Too mention a few, personal highlights were B-Pitch Ctrl's beach party, Kompakt's Night at Nitsa and numerous afters featuring great DJ's, out-of-bounce crowds and dodgy settings. Could go on for ages describing it all, but if anything, this must be the big daddy to all nightlife in the genre.

Unfortunately we managed to loose our camera including all footage on the way back, so “the Sonar Aftermath” could've been more documented if a pissed-off Spanish airport women would be honest for once and return it...

Being back to business as usual zombie-style, here are some remixes from the Alex Gopher CD, named after himself (creative ey...).

So finally, Barcelona's long awaited Sonar Festival is next week and we can't hold ourselves. Starting the 14th it's three days & nigths in a row with the most exclusive line-up plus loads of events to attend everywhere. No matter what, no excuse is valid when it comes to going to this madhouse.
Since you're probably broke, go to the bank and take an urgent loan because the worst thing would be regretting this.
Who knows, maybe next year a forgotten the rubber glove got some church girl pregnant and you end up changing diapers all summer. So there's no thinking over this, book a flight and cue it up!

TV or Music, it's All Good Entertainment

There's nothing worse than watching TV and the only choices you have are shitty b-series from the 80-90's, like Dallas or Beverley Hills 90210 to mention a couple. But the absolute lowpoint of it all must be the "new" shows on MTV like The Barbershop and Your Mama. They urge you to get an AK47 and a Crocodile Dundy machete and finish them up. Just jump into the screen and make Hannibal Lecter look like a teenage girl having her first period.

Luckily there are some clear improvements with MTV:s really fucked-up Wonder Showzen that I've been able to understand thanks to special products. After that, they aired Stankervision that could be quite entertaining once in a while but got cancelled to make place for a much better show, Strutter. The main goal is to offend most of the world using drugs, fucking, beating and simply politically incorrect jokes.

"At the tail end of last year Mike was awarded the Guinness World Record for 'Most Swearing in a Television Programme' for episode 1 of 'Strutter'; which contains 201 confirmed profanities. This equates to almost ten swearwords per minute and beats (on a minute for minute basis)."..."Not bad going we think. It’s getting real confusing. There’s far too much good music to listen to, releases and events to be updated on and ultimately attend, less known creations waiting to be discovered, plus a shitload of non-musically related activities to fit in. It seems catching up is impossible but somehow there must be a way of not going totally bananas.

Being heavily dependent of loads of music ranging from completely different genres, I’d make the rather safe assumption that it’s all about listening or else it would be pretty useless. Well either you’re organized Ikea-style or only listen to a couple of Neil Young albums but something very drastic needs to happen to be on top of it all, or even halfway there.

With that in mind, we thought a grand melting pot of what has been sent to us, tracks we’ve been listening to lately and releases we urge you to get hold of, should do part of the trick. Some of the following attachments must have come across your little mouse, if so blame the Internet’s overabundance and we’ll keep publishing whatever we feel like and try to keep track of what’s from this decade at least.

As an apprentice, or “junior-whore-to-be” it seems the principal qualities actually needed to survive is a hell lot of hypocrisy, reduced-self-esteem and an inhuman ability to repress the impossible. Let’s hope it’s all wrong but given that you’re already on a soup&water-diet at the office daydreaming through the week, the following tunes might help taking the edge off until better things come along. The electronic-house scene is clearly popular within the blogging one. It takes a whole day to go through every post on the google-reader but lots of the music is recurrent. At least one remix of Justice Dance or Beat is put up on a daily basis along with rock remixes with an 8-bit touch and heavy beats. Since that's not all, attempts of putting stuff that's not necessarily in the spotlight are more than justified. Quite some interest has been witnessed around The Bloody Beetroots and it doesn't take a Nostradamus to see that these unsigned Italians are surely getting established on the scene. In many ways it resembles the first steps of Justice when their distorted electro-clash was something relatively new, for many cool and for some maybe even underground... Luckily, times change and so do the artists and our attention. It's not all about going from these lovely first-time discoveries, through NRJ-puking-fame to dusty Dj-cases, but ironically if it's too appealing it's borderline doomed. Sadly it seems Justice are racing on that highway to hell since they haven't delivered much true stuff lately and Italian runner-ups are blooming.

All things apart, these guys amazed us right away. So take some precautions, this may trigger your worst niagarafall-noseblood ever. We sincerely apologize for the lack of originality since so many have already mentioned the Bloody Beetroots, but we thought putting several songs together hurts very badly.

How truthful is it that less is better? Take a 100 sqm room equipped with two straight lined pieces of furniture framed by spotless walls painted in white and grey, the whole thing smelling like detergent. The overall attempt is to present something stylish, modern and fresh but the result is an oppressing emptiness with the charm of a clinic’s waiting room.

In many ways, a minimalist style is the most dangerous and boldest of them all. Whether it’s design, cuisine, visual art or music, a minimalen-attempt still needs to include something. And that fundamental something better be freaking awesome.

Well for that matter, there are some brave souls that are taking the challenge and bloody hell they know what “simply beautiful” means. Being a chickenshit-sidekick of an admirer, the least would be to express the honest respect and admiration for these talents of minimal. So here's some of the latest we’ve encountered in the genre:

The following musical tale of the artistic life, so so so fancy, comically and most satirically pinpoints the saddest and rather tragic aspect of the current scene… at least part of it.

The irony couldn’t be more truthful, hence hardcore. The colourful, friendly but so very superior lifestyle of the daydreaming and cappuccino-drinking Mr. DJ, is composed by the only preoccupation of being part of The click and pose as an avant-garde record player. It’s ridiculously hilarious.

So if it’s all about popularity, playing unknown stuff from Germany (?), life-long complicity with fellow bohemians, and a constant struggle of being the source of everything that will become cool… well, then we’re completely out, in other words: not very “pluggé”.

It’s no surprise that Numéro# are from Montreal, but since it’s been mixed a few times, there must be some artists self-secure enough to joke about their own milieu… and that we like very much. Plus some joyful music doesn’t hurt of course.

And so to balance things up, posting non-serious music with a seriously gorgeous lady, there’s an urgent need to do the opposite. Teenage Bad Girl's recent Cocotte Album includes a remix of Yuksek that caught our frog-ears. How unusual! Might not be the most impressive track ever made, but the single 2':30'' to 3':30'' minute was well worth the detour.

If you’re into Prince’s leather jackets, Magnum PI’s hardcore jeans, Knight Rider’s speeding car, old school Casio digitals and still dreaming of flying a Testarossa in space listening to psychedelic 80’s keyboards, then Kavinsky’s your man. Well his new release, 1986, may be too much of a return to the future for some, but taken as a whole, the flipped-out modern-retro thing he’s got going on is rather amusing. Although we're all true fans of B-list celebrities, changing the world doesn't necessarily mean poisoning it by singing "I've been looking for freedom" live in Berlin or saving it by running after bad guys on the beaches of Malibu. But you still have to value the amazingly horrible contributions of David Hasselhoff. We came across a very interesting interview with him commenting on Baywatch and his role as Mitch. Here's a rather disturbing excerpt:

"I wanted to play around with the format, really tear it to pieces and shake it up. For example, if Mitch saves someone from drowning, and that person then goes out and releases a virus that kills a million people. Imagine the moral implications of that."

Unless you have the luxury of employing a kind servant from a 3rd world country, live with your parents or have a slave for a girlfriend, you need to avoid hunger by moving your ass and take the awful step of buying groceries. Some might see mega-store-shopping as a nice break, an exciting money-spending time or an opportunity to finally hook up with the sexy lady working behind the cheese counter, but for most of us normal people, picking out products for mediocre meals and standing in Ms Cashier's line, qualifies as a very doll, meaningless and demanding obligation.

But hold on, it’s not all a disaster. The one and only thing actually worth the while, comes from the ingenious foresight of geniuses, understated as “developers”, who forever changed personal entertainment by inventing portable music devices. Whether the credit should go to Masaru Ibuka and Kozo Ohsone from Sony, to some Brazilian guy they bought it from, or just to Steve Jobs, it’s the achievement of crushing the misery comprised with picking out a vegetable, sitting on a bus or a crowded metro, that, ladies and gents, is Freaking Divine!

If not a day goes by without using one of those Badboys, critics would see you as an anti-social being and argue that your missing out on all sounds, conversations, potential friendships and romances shaping your destiny.

Well, until I visit a crowded place where the everyday life of the “No-Ipod-activists” is all
